Having faith is believing that God CAN do something; Trusting God is believing that God WILL do something. God had told Abram multiple times that he would have a child through his wife Sarai, but as the years went by, it became more and more difficult to believe that God would fulfill His promise THAT way. So, they took matters in their own hands to bring about the desires of their own hearts. As expected, it did not and it will not in the future turn out well.
