For seven years, Fudia’s family tried to find a cure for her bowed legs. Her mother brought her to Freetown with the hope of healing but shortly after, she became an orphan, and her uncle stepped in to care for her. A few years later, the GlobalMercy docked in Freetown and her uncle took her to be evaluated. She was cleared for surgery and finally received the treatment her mother had worked so hard to find.
