Mercy Ships

When David was one, a pot of boiling water fell on him, leaving his arm locked in place. As he grew, he was teased and made fun of. “I don’t like going to school,” he said. “They call me names.” A decade later, David boarded the #GlobalMercy in Freetown. He received life-changing surgery and while recovery wasn’t easy, his spirit stayed strong. Among volunteers and children like him, he found joy, earning the nickname “Doctor of the Ward” as he mimicked staff and offered playful diagnoses.
