Many scientific institutions present an atheistic view of the universe as settled scientific fact. Yet a significant portion of the world’s population does not accept that conclusion. In 1968, Apollo 8 became the first manned mission to orbit the Moon. As the spacecraft circled the lunar surface, the astronauts delivered a message heard around the world. Their words began with a powerful passage from Genesis: “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth.”
