This is a story of sheep and shepherds. Sheep are a picture of us in the Bible. Why the analogy to sheep? There are some good things. Sheep are ritually clean (Leviticus 11). They are basically harmless and useful in many ways. They are also helpless, they are completely dependent. There is an old saying that sheep need to be led, fed, and protected.
